Album Info:Well, I first saw a train working Domtar Paper in January 2001 on this spur! Then November 2014, September 2016, April 2018, June 2018 and July 2019! This was a GTW branch until Lake State Railway started leasing this line in June 2018! I documented the "Last" GTW before LSRC on June 10, 2018! I saw LSRC operating July 1, 2019! Recently (2021/2022) Domtar and Dunn Paper Mills closed! There is not much business on this spur anymore!!!!! Hopefully the future is good! I will scan/upload more as time permits.

Sequence shot #2--GTW Black River Bascule Bridge crossing!!!!
Title:  Sequence shot #2--GTW Black River Bascule Bridge crossing!!!!
Description:  A southbound Grand Trunk Western train crosses the Black River in Port Huron, Michigan on April 8, 2018. GP38-2 #5847 leads on this branch after serving Dunn Paper. The Bascule Bridge was built in 1929 and raises to allow large boats to pass. It is kept down during the winter months in the off season for boaters. In the summer months, the bridge is kept in the raised position and only lowered to allow trains to cross. This railroad spur is less than 4 miles long. It used to be a main line and was built in 1859 for Grand Trunk Western’s predecessor Chicago, Detroit & Canada Grand Trunk Railroad. (Canon AE-1 Program 35mm camera, Kodak Gold 100 print film)
