Here is a post card via Peter Outerbridge entitled "Cincinnati Union Terminal." Caption On Reverse: "Cincinnati Union Terminal. At the CUT enginehouse in September of 1956, E-8's belonging to the PRR (No. 5892), C&O, and NYC are joined by L&N E-6 (No. 757). CUT was built between 1929 and 1933 by seven railroads at a cost of $41 million. It handled over 200 trains per day and had 16 platform tracks. Photo by David R. Sweetland." Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5892 is an EP-22 built by GM-EMD in April of 1950 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. |

Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Dave Ingles that was taken at Union Station in Chicago, Illinois, on 18 August 1963. Prominent here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5892 and #5799. Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5892 was built in April of 1950, while #5799 was constructed in June of 1952. Three Equipment Notes: (1) a pair of PRR double-door boxcars one track over; (2) a two-car diner assigned to the "Broadway Limited" two tracks over; as well as (3), Railway Express refrigerator cars and an N-6 cabin car three tracks over.
