Description:  D 22, the local that replaced SU 2, rolls north along NY 7 in Sanitaria Springs with an old GP 9 in bright red, along with a D&H painted GP 38-2. Even in its late days, the trains on the D&H sometimes didnt all match!! Today's effort has 16 cars in tow.

Description:  Sometimes D 22 would head to Owego early in the day, before noon, which made it backlit for most of the trip. I caught it off the Apalachin-Campville connector, the sun at its back, reflecting off the salt hoppers as it went west with a half dozen cars behind a pair of lightning stripes.

Title:  D22 heads for Owego
Description:  Until CP relinquished rights to interchange with the Owego & Harford, local D22 ran there twice every week to interchange gas cars, among other things. Occasionally the train would draw the lighning stripe units. Here we see 7304 and 7303 at MP 220 in Endwell with some salt hoppers in tow.

Description:  I always carried my scanner with me(which, by the way, is illegal in some places, New York among them. See VTL secvion 397) just in }ase something turned up. Today was one of those days, as I heard D 22 calling the signal at 216-2. I was on the west side, and able to get into position to get a shot near Lester Av. Thiv is the result, a lightning stripe GP 38 with 12 cars passing under Arch St.
