Here is a very early ten-wheeler built in 1902 by the Pittsburgh Locomotive Works, C&EI class T-23. It had tall 78" drivers and could develop 200 psi boiler pressure for its compound 22½ and 35X30 cylinders. The engine weight was 165,000 lbs, but after rebuilt to simple in 1904 with 20X26 cylinders, it weighed 174,800 lbs and it could produced 22,667 lb of tractive effort. It was renumbered to 616 (class G-3) in 1911 and dismantled by the C&EI in 1929. No date or location was given but it almost appears to be a builder's photo so the date and location are based on that premise. R.H Kennedy |

Good example of a 1904 Alco-Schenectady built ten-wheeler, originally #275 (class T-33), renumbered to 626 (class G-7) in 1911. It had 63" drivers and could develop 200 psi boiler pressure for its 21"x28" cylinders.
