Description:  Here is page two of a 15-page booklet published by the Pennsylvania Railroad entitled "Modern Cars And Locomotives: 1926." Top Photo Caption: "The 'John Bull,' placed in service on the Camden and Amboy Railroad in 1831, was the first locomotive used on any line now included in the Pennsylvania System. The old Camden and Amboy Railroad is now part of the Trenton Division." Bottom Photo Caption: "Passenger locomotive built in 1856." Modeled here is the PRR's "Tiger," a 4-4-0 "American" steam locomotive built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during 1856, later numbered "134," and sold to M&I before 1862.

Description:  Here are pages two and three of a 14-page pamphlet entitled "Altoona Shops Inspection Trip: Sunday, May 16 [1937]." It was published in advance of the Trip by the Pennsylvania Railroad. Page 2, Top Photo Caption: "'The Pioneer' in use 1851-1880. A wood burner, but could attain a speed of 70 miles per hour." Page 2, Bottom Photo Caption: "The GG1 of 1937 ~ a Pennsylvania Railroad giant." Shown here is PRR engine #4843, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) built in Juniata during May of 1935 and rated at 4,620 horsepower. On page three is a "Foreword" by the PRR's 11th President, Mr. Martin Washington Clement, who occupied that office from 1935 through 1948.
