Description:  The Boone and Scenic Valley museum, or BSVY, had an ex-Rock Island caboose, #17051, as part of an excursion on 9-03-2011. The steam engine powering the trip, JS-8914, later ran around the train and coupled onto this caboose for the trip back to Boone from Fraser, IA.

Description:  BSVY, ex-Rock Island, caboose 17051 is at the east end of an excursion on the Boone and Scenic Valley Museum's line from Boone to Fraser, IA. This view looks northeast, and shows the former Rock Island's red, yellow, and white paint scheme. The B&SV has added its own logo on the cupola's side.

Description:  This view of Boone and Scenic Valley's ex-Rock Island caboose, #17051, shows one of the rear sections. I didn't know, for example, that this caboose has at least a couple of air horns and the white treads on the ladder. The rear of the tender is visible through the open doors.

Description:  BSVY, ex-Rock Island cbaoose 17051, is directly behind steam engine JS-8914, and that engine was working hard to climb some uphill territory near Boone, Iowa, heading east towards Boone. It was raining water, as well as soot, that Saturday afternoon!
