510 is a St. Louis Car Company Arrow I that has been de-motored. The cars behind it are GE Arrow II's.

The comment by Sean is incorrect. The Arrow I's (Jersey Arrows) where demotorized and converted to Push-Pull Comet IB coaches, but in this photo, the pantograph is a dead giveaway that this is still a motored coach at the time this photo was taken. A very nice rare find too to see the AI and AII in the same consist.

I believe the Comet 1 cars have been retired and are up for sale.

You're bouth off a little, those are definitely Arrow IIIs (note the lack of corner air scoops and presence of Stemman Pantographs.

You're both off a little, those are definitely Arrow IIIs, note the lack of corner air scoops and the presence of Stemman pantographs. Also, 510 is indeed modified, since these cars originally could NOT couple together. They were rebuilt around 76-77 to overhaul these fire prone cars, and give them compatible couplers. That is why they were renumbered from the 100 series to the 500 series. Had they persisted, it was planned to renumber them in the 1200 series on NJ transit, but that never happened.
