Amtrak P30CH 720
Amtrak P30CH 720 as seen from the 18th Street bridge in Chicago, Illinois on an unknown day in October 1979, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. The raised bridge in the background once led to Chicago's Grand Central Station, and after the station closed at the end of 1969, The bridge was locked in the up position. The lowered bridge in the background is the ICG (at the time of this photo) Saint Charles Air Line. See the Wikipedia articles for more information.

A personal observation, GE never could figure out how to blend in the intake and radiator grills to the design of the locomotive.

MEC 407 General Cool photo. Always wondered what the rear end of a P30 looked like. 1/24/2012 11:50:47 AM
