| Former C&NW caboose 10909 rests on a short piece of track north of I-80 near Colfax, IA. This is a fairly recent addition to the railroad items already here--from at least 2009, a group of volunteers has been restoring a former depot (I don't remember which railroad used to own it). I don't remember seeing this caboose in autumn 2009, the only other time I was here. BTW, there is also a well-stocked hobby shop near here (behind and to the right of this photo) and, in a house, an operating Lionel-themed layout open during parts of the year. I think the name is Train Town or Train World but I hope to visit here again! April 22, 2012. |
