LIRR RS1 #466 - Long Island RR
#466 is again heading up a string of road switchers hauling loaded coal cars and kicking up a dense cloud of smoking doing so. With Tom Beckett's help (see comment below), the location has been identified as the Mt Olivet grade in Maspeth on the Montauk Branch in Queens. Date is approximate. No photographer listed.

Tom Beckett	General	This is Mt Olivet grade in Maspeth on the Montauk Branch in Queens. It's the ruling grade on the Island, 1.7 or 1.8%, I can't recall now. Heavier freights got pushers here.	6/7/2014 2:09:15 AM
