Looking at southeast and northeast walls of the former MILW passenger and freight depot along the CP rails at Columbus, WI on 11 Nov. '15. Designed in the Italianate style, it was constructed of lumber with brick veneer by the Milwaukee & St. Paul (M&StP) in 1871. When the current passenger depot (out-of-frame to the left) was built in 1906, this became the freight house. I don't know when the railroad stopped using it, but it obviously became part of the Caldwell Lumber Co. quite a while ago. |
