Yard Power. Here is an original photo that I took of a Pennsylvania Railroad yard locomotive at Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, on 01 August 1960. Shown here is PRR engine #8906, an AS-16M road switcher built by the American Locomotive Company in 1951 and rated at 1,600 horsepower. This photo was taken from the old Union Street Bridge. Note the string of H-21A hopper cars a couple of tracks over; they were on their way to the Samuel Rea Shop for rebuilding/reconditioning. |
