PC Westbound Hump, 1972
Yard Work. Here is an original photo that I took of Penn Central Railroad yard operations in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, during August of 1972. Shown here is PC engine #9020, an SW-1200 built by General Motors' Electro-Motive Division in 1957 and rated at 1,200 horsepower. In this artsy-shot using the rear-view mirror of my Datsun 240-Z, #9020 is at the very top of the Westbound Hump. In olden days, there was a two-storey Hump Tower located there.
