The 606
I know most fans won't care about this shot, but I'm a gearhead, so it goes in. These are 6-banger 606 engines that SMS got from a stationary generator site. They are practically new from an hours of service perspective. Arrangement and baseplate are different than the 606 in a locomotive, but they can use the entire top by remounting to a locomotive baseplate, then swapping the manifold positions. SMS has the shop to do this, no problem.

Alan Fricker General These are the kind of shots I appreciate-I'm not a gearhead, but I think its important to document the inside of loco wherever possible-they are the reason the outside exists! 8/13/2016 10:50:38 AM
Daniel Savage General Was the steam engine still in the shop? 8/13/2016 11:50:18 AM
