A model CR had a lot of at start up was the U30B, almost 60 of them. They were common on the trains to Long Island, which ran out of Selkirk. That yard had most of the GEs assigned to it for maintenance, so they were daily visitors at Fresh Pond, which is where we see this one. It and the other road power are waiting for the crew to come back from Bay Ridge with their SW 1500 and whatever cars they might have.
