Fernwood Columbia & Gulf SW900 number 900 was on an eastbound train preparing to leave Fernwood, Mississippi for Tylertown and Columbia. The elevated track on the left was the Illinois Central main line between New Orleans and McComb. Visible in the shed on the right was Kalamazoo Railway Supply Co. Railcarbus M-4. The FC&G had been placed it in service on 16 October 1936 and sold in February 1971. The M-4 subsequently moved to Shreveport and Reader, before going to the Southern Forestry Heritage Museum at Long Leaf, Louisiana. |
