RE S2 1049
Railway Equipment Leasing Co. S2 1049 was parked on a siding along the Illinois Central Gulf in the Baton Rouge area, without a front coupler or some steps. Relco units were very common along the ICG between here and New Orleans because of the many industries along the Mississippi. The locomotive was built in June 1948 as Seaboard Air Line 1432 before becoming Seaboard Coast Line 48, and it had been retired in August 1976.
