Empty coal  Contributor's Pick!
Despite being a raceway for intermodal and carload freight, there was still some coal on the Chicago Line, such as this westbound empty train from Bow, NH, UBO59X rolling its 156 cars west behind the then new power of a C40-8 and an SD60M. That's Amtrak's former ex NYC station at right. It will be replaced in a few years by a new station near Carousel Mall.
