Photo Caption: "Over its vast rail network, Pennsy operates 400 fast 'arranged-service' through freights daily. By-passing intermediate yards is one technique the Pennsy uses in meeting today's economic and competitive challenges. It schedules 800 passenger trains daily." Depicted here at the southern end of the Rockville Bridge are two westbound trains: the passenger train has just departed the Harrisburg Station on its way to Pittsburgh, while the freight train has just departed Enola Yard on its way to Conway Yard and points West. |
