Oil Power. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in North Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in August of 1963. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #8527 and #8541. Both are ES-12M's built by GM-EMD in December of 1952 and rated at 1,200 horsepower each. They are passing through the North Philadelphia Passenger Station with a northbound mixed-cargo freight train in the late afternoon sunshine. Looks like the "Autocar Tires" building now produces "Nuclear Electronics"! |
