Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Passenger Station in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, on 29 October 1978. Prominent here is Amtrak engine #4935, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric built in Juniata by the Pennsylvania Railroad during March of 1943, rated at 4,620 horsepower, acquired by both Penn Central and Amtrak, and presently on display at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in Strasburg. It's pulling an NRHS excursion train. Henry C. Westenberger Collection. |
