PRR "Main Line Of Commerce," 1951         
Here is a postal card entitled "Main Line Of Commerce." Composed by Mr. Grif Teller. No Postmark. Caption On Reverse: "The location of this autumn scene is about six miles west of Johnstown, Pa. In the foreground the Pennsylvania Railroad's main line tracks between East and West parallel the scenic Conemaugh River, and on the far side are tracks of the Sang Hollow Extension Branch." Depicted in the center (L to R) are PRR diesel engine #5843 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are EP-20's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5843 was constructed in August of 1947. Depicted at the right is PRR engine #6444, a J-1 (2-10-4) "Texas" built in Juniata during November of 1943 and retired in February of 1960. [Loco Count: Steamers 2, Diesels 1]
