Price. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Bill Price that was taken in Newport, Pennsylvania, on 30 May 1952. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6871, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during October of 1926 and retired in March of 1950 after 24 years of faithful service. In this context, it's passing through Newport's Passenger Station on its way from Enola to Altoona with a mixed-cargo freight train. |
