Coal Power. Here is an original 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken in South Amboy, New Jersey, on 28 August 1957. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #830, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during July of 1917 and retired in April of 1958 after 41 years of faithful service. It's poised for another run to Bay Head Junction. |
