Here is page four of a seven-page cover article entitled "Birth Of A 2-10-0." It was published originally in the May 1974 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 35. Shown here are two photos of Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4300 while it was being built. #4300 is an I-1S (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during October of 1922, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in October of 1943, and retired in May of 1956 after 34 years of faithful service. |
