MGA RF-16A #1216 - Monongahela RR
This "sharknose" loco was built by Baldwin in january of 1952 as NYC 381. Although a good perfomer, it bounced onto several other rr rosters like the Monongahela as their #1216. There is a rumor that this loco and another RF-16A are stored in a remote Escanaba & Lake Superior RR building. Michael A Tedesco took this color slide of the loco.

Tom Beckett General This unit eventually became D&H 1205, along with sister 1216. They held down a number of assignments there, among other things, the Sayre Turn, from Binghamton to the Lehigh Valley at Sayre PA, via the EL to Owego NY, then onto the LV Auburn Branch, which ran next to the EL from there to Barton NY, where it ducked under the EL to reach the LV. They also did pusher duty on Belden Hilll, as well as worked from Whitehall NY to Rutland VT, among other jobs. Both units are in hiding on the E&LS. 6/17/2020 3:57:42 AM
Tom Beckett General Oops, sorry, brain farted. This unit stayed 1216, the other unit was 1205. Anyway, both went to the D&H. 6/17/2020 3:59:20 AM
