Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Little Creek, Virginia, on 7 May 1961. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8738, a BS-12M switcher built by Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton in November of 1952, rated at 1,200 horsepower, and retired in October of 1967 after just 15 years of revenue service. Note the leads to the PRR's car ferry docks at the far right. ("Stoneborobranch"; #4 of 8) |
