WB. Here is an image of a photo by Tom Lyman that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 19 October 1948. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5549, a T-1 (4-4-4-4) "Duplex" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during August of 1948 and retired in January of 1956 after just eight years of revenue service. This is the very last steam locomotive built for the PRR. In this context, pulling a passenger train around the Curve and down the Allegheny Mountains to Altoona and points East. William E.
