| A note on the back of the photo states "Frisco 4402 with wrecker at #8 wreck, Nichols, MO, oct 5 1947. Too much speed on curve due to engineer being lost in fog." The accident was definitely a scene of onlookers. How the Frisco shops were able to restore this loco by December of 1947 after this in October of 1947 is miraculous. Arthur B. Johnson photo |
