Beautiful former Chicago, Burlington & Quiincy owned dome car "Stampede Pass", originally labeled "Observatory", was assigned to its partner Northern Pacific trains.. The car was built by the Budd Company in 1954 for use on the North Coast Limited. Eventually it landed on the Amtrak roster and leased to several companies. In the late 1990's it was converted from a dome-coach car to a dome-sleeper with three new bedrooms, dome seating for 24 people and lounge seating. It now belongs to the Paxrail company. Beautiful paint scheme on this car. |
