iCurve. Here is an image that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1920. Prominent here is a trio of Pennsylvania Railroad Class "K" (4-6-2) "Pacific" steam locomotives pulling a passenger train up the Allegheny Mountains and around the Curve to Pittsburgh and points West. Also visible are the four-track signal bridge (with semaphores) and the Kittanning Point Passenger Station. Now those were the good old days! The photographer's name and the date are not recorded. |
