Mann. Here is a photo by Charles T. Mahan, Jr., that was taken in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on 26 May 1949. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5781 and a passenger "Shark" B-unit whose number is not recorded. Both are BP-20's built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5781 was constructed in October of 1948 and retired in June of 1964 after just 16 years of revenue service. warren evans General Tom great shot! 5781A. in its original paint scheme and classed BP-3. Notice the drop-down drawbar in the down position. plus 5780B was derated to 1600Hp. re-geared to 65Mph. and reclassed to BF-16z. in 1957, 5/24/2023 2:04:03 PM
