Here is page 24 of a 32-page cover article entitled "Juice Jacks: The Electric Locomotive Comes Of Age." It was published originally in the July 1944 issue of "Railroad" magazine, page 31. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3930, an L-5 (1-B-B-1) electric built in Juniata during January of 1924, rated at 3,300 horsepower, and retired in May of 1944 after 20 years of faithful service. Also notable are graphic depictions of the three modes of "Electric Locomotive Drives."
