APR, Staple Bend Tunnel, c. 2016         
Here is an image of the East Portal of the Allegheny Portage Railroad's Staple Bend Tunnel, c. 2016. It's located at the top of Inclined Plane #1 near Conemaugh, Pennsylvania. Work began in November of 1831 and was completed in June of 1833. It's double-tracked, 901 feet in length, and cost just $37,498.85! It's been reopened and the walls reinforced; walk-through tours are now conducted by the National Park Service. The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded.
