Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer via Rail Photo Service that was taken in Enola, Pennsylvania, c. 1951. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6806, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during August of 1926 and retired in September of 1952 after 26 years of faithful service. Visible in the middle distance is a small portion of the left-to-right flowing Susquehanna River on its merry way to Chesapeake Bay. John S. Fisher Collection; #12 of 13. |
