New Orleans Regional Transit Authority car 457 was heading upriver on the Riverfront Line between St. Louis and Conti streets. The car had been built by the Perley A. Thomas Car Works in 1924 as New Orleans Public Service 957 and was sold to the Trinity Valley Railfans after the original Canal Car Line closed in 1964. It returned to New Orleans in 1986, where it was rebuilt and made ADA-compatible by the RTA and renumbered for use on the RIVERFRONT line as 457. The large building on the left is the former Jax Brewery. |
