PRR Westbound Passenger, c. 1951
Baera 2. Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Horseshoe Curve near Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1951. Shown here are two unidentified Pennsylvania Railroad steam locomotives ~ a "Pacific" and a "Duplex" ~ pulling a passenger train around the Curve and up the Allegheny Mountains to Johnstown and points West. At Gallitzin, the "Pacific" will be uncoupled and returned to Altoona for another assignment. Lots of Sunday afternoon visitors present! (Track 2)
