Here is an image of a photo by John Dziobko, Jr., that was taken at Penn Station in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on 3 January 1954. Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5705 and another unit whose road number is not recorded. Both are EP-22's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,250 horsepower each. #5705 was constructed in September of 1952. It looks to me like the only "passenger" on the platform is the pigeon in the foreground! Edward Kaspriske Collection. |
