LV 0-4-0T #3500 - Lehigh Valley
This little switcher was only one of two 0-4-0 switchers on the LV roster since the line was primarily hauling heavy loads. It spent its life at the LV's Bronx Terminal shuffling cars. After nearly 33 years of switching duties, the loco was scrapped in August of 1939. Specs - 48" drivers, 180 psi boiler pressure, 16x24" cylinders, modest engine wt of 97,000 lb, very modest tractive effort of 19,584 lb. No date was given for the photo but it had to be before the August, 1939 scrapping. Photo by Anderson.
