Here are pages one and two of a 22-page booklet published by the Pennsylvania Railroad entitled "Serving You Through Progress In Transportation." It was issued originally in December of 1958. From The Text: "Trains of the Pennsylvania Railroad carry 63 million passengers and move 200 million tons of freight each year. To perform these services, the company owns 2,600 locomotives, 5,200 passenger cars, 170,000 freight cars, 25,000 miles of main line, branch, and yard tracks, hundreds of stations, shops, piers, and other facilities." From The Text: "Trains of the Pennsylvania Railroad carry 45 million passengers and move about 160 million tons of freight during a year. To perform these services, the company operates 2,686 diesel and electric units, 3,728 passenger cars, 137,800 freight cars, 23,000 miles of main line, branch, and yard tracks, hundreds of stations, shops, piers, and other facilities."
