Camden. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Camden, New Jersey, on 24 June 1957. The photographer is not identified. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6391, a B-6SB (0-6-0) switcher built in Juniata during December of 1926 and retired in April of 1958 after 32 years of faithful service. Note the presence of a non-slope-backed tender. ("Stoneborobranch"; #58 of 69) |

Coal Power. Here is an original 35mm color slide (converted to B&W) by D.R. McCulloch that was taken in Camden, New Jersey, on 3 September 1957. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #1777, #784, #5379, #3747, and #6391. #1777 is an H-9S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an H-8B during January of 1911, rebuilt in Juniata as an H-9S in August of 1916, and retired in October of 1958. #784 is an H-9S (2-8-0) "Condoslidated" built in Juniata as an H-8B and numbered "304" during May of 1911, rebuilt in Juniata as an H-9S and renumbered "5372" in 1918, renumbered "784" in 1921, and retired in October of 1958. #5379 is a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during June of 1924 and retired in April of 1958. Barely visible just to the right of center is #3747, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during March of 1920 and retired in November of 1957. And #6391 is a B-6SB (0-6-0) switcher built in Juniata during December of 1926 and retired in April of 1958. |
