PRR 5893, EP-22, 1965
Title:  PRR 5893, EP-22, 1965
Description:  Spruce Creek. Here is the third of eight successive photos that I took in Spruce Creek, Pennsylvania, on 10 July 1965. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #5893, #5852-B, and another unit whose road number is not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD. #5893 is an EP-22 constructed in April of 1953 and rated at 2,250 horsepower. #5852-B is an EP-20 built in September of 1947, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in September of 1967. In this context, they're pulling a mail & express train out of Altoona to Harrisburg and points East. Wave to the Engineman!
