Shown here are several Pennsylvania Railroad steam locomotives stored for future use on the Eastbound Locomotive Ready Tracks. Among them is engine #6810, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during August of 1926 and retired in February of 1958 after 32 years of faithful service. The sky-high smokestack marks the location of the Powerhouse for the East Altoona Roundhouse. Obscured by smoke and steam in the middle distance are HOMER Tower and the Westbound Hump. |

Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6810, an M-1 (4-8-2) "Mountain" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during August of 1926 and retired in February of 1958 after 32 years of faithful service. It has just departed the Enola Yards with a mixed-cargo freight train, and is threading the interlocking on the Rockville Bridge on its way to Williamsport and points North.
