When the train got to Arkansas City Kansas it was redirected to Rochelle, Illinois and redesignated U-ELTRCH4-20. The line in the foreground is the Wabtec/GE test track. |

The photographer was standing on the former ATSF/BNSF main line from Fort Worth to Oklahoma and points north while the right track - with the concrete ties – was built for GE. The extension of the test track curves off the right (east) for a mile and a half, while the crooked track diverging to the left is the interchange with the BNSF. The connection with the BNSF is identified as Lambert by the railroad. The two tracks on the left middle are the new BNSF main lines into Fort Worth. These were originally built as the north connection to Alliance Yard - which opened on 30 March 1994 - when the main line was still the former Santa Fe track here. |
